New South Wales open up the remaining portion of its Subclass 491 nomination places.

According to a report, there were 309,900 jobs listed in Australia in August 2022, a 42% rise over the previous year. Top of the list is the demand for nurses which is predicted to have over 100,000 shortage by the year 2025 and more than 123,000 shortage by the year 2030. 

There are recent shake-up onf the migration program in Australia aiming to attract more migrant workers in the country. Loads of options have been laid out by the federal government, but due to the labour workforce demand, the General Skilled Migration program is what they highlight the most.

With Australia currently experiencing a labour crisis arising from border closures, the country has opened up 160,000 permanent migration allocations to help solve this.

This week, Western Australia opened its skilled migration program and tripled its sponsorship numbers compared to the last financial year with more than 8000 allocations available In addition to the increase in allocation, Western Australia has also relaxed its migration requirements in order to help address skill shortages.

Last Thursday, South Australian Government reopened their Skilled and Business Migration Program for both overseas talents and onshore skilled migrants. The number of occupations opened for offshore applicants has returned to pre-pandemic levels with more than 470 occupations for FY 2022-23 program. As we move forward to a new financial year, Australian states and territories are awaiting confirmation from the Australian Government for the nomination allocation for the 2022-2023 program year. Despite that, Tasmania and Western Australia have already released information regarding the changes to their skilled visa nomination requirements.
