Options for students & Australian graduates

With the Australian borders previously closed for international travel, many international students & graduates were not able to continue their studies or continue to stay in Australia. This has resulted in students having to either postpone their studies or having to complete their course online, missing out on the experience of studying abroad. 

With the newly announced reopening of the borders on 21 February 2022, fully vaccinated student visa holders will be able to enter Australia without having to apply for a travel exemption. The same applies to graduates who have an approved graduate visa.

Student visas

Australia has many top institutions which provide world-class education which makes it one of the favorite destinations for students looking to study abroad.

If you do not currently have a student visa, we would need apply for one and the requirements are as follows:

  • A valid Confirmation Letter of Enrolment (CoE) 

  • Parental consent if below the age of 18 years old

  • Evidence of financial capacity - funds to support travel cost + 1 year of living in Australia 

  • English proficiency results (requirement may vary depending on the course you are studying)

Australia graduates 

If you have recently graduated from an Australian institution, you may be eligible to apply for a Subclass 485 and the requirements are as follows:

  • Be under the age of 50 years old at time of lodgement

  • Meet the required English proficiency level

  • Meet 2 year Australia study requirement

  • Apply within 6 months of completion date

The Subclass 485 graduate visa will allow you to live and work in Australia while the visa is valid. The benefits include:

  • Full work rights & the freedom to work for any employer in Australia

  • Continue to stay in Australia with an employer sponsored visa if you meet the minimum requirement of 2 years work experience in an eligible occupation 

  • Potential permanent residency pathway if your occupation is on the relevant occupation lists
