MAIN REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the Subclass 835, Onshore Remaining Relative Visa, applicants must meet several essential criteria:

Sponsorship
The applicant must be sponsored by an eligible relative. It may be their:
- parent/step-parent
- sibling/step-sibling
- eligible partner of their relative

No Other Near Relatives
The applicant or their partner must not have a near relative who reside outside Australia or a near relative who reside in Australia on a temporary visa (Temporary visa include bridging visas).

Assurance of Support
An assurance of support (a financial bond) is required to ensure that the applicant will not become reliant on government welfare services.

Health and Character Requirements
Health Checks: Applicants and any dependent family members must undergo medical examinations to ensure they meet Australia's health standards. This is to prevent the Australian healthcare system from being burdened by applicants with significant medical needs.
Character Checks: Police clearances from each country the applicant has lived in for 12 months or more during the past 10 years are required. This ensures that the applicant poses no security or criminal risk to Australia.
