How to bring your parents to live with you in Australia?
With the Australian borders previously closed for international travel, parents were not allowed to enter Australia unless they were granted a parent visa or a travel exemption for a visitor visa.
With the newly announced reopening of the borders on 21 February 2022, parents of Australian permanent residents or citizens will be able to enter Australia without a travel exemption as long as they are fully vaccinated.
There are two ways that parents will be able to Australia, and that is either through a visitor visa or a parent visa. Whether it is for retirement or just to be with family, parent visas are a great choice for you to be in Australia for a longer period of time compared to visitor visas.
