482 Visa - Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa
The TSS visa subclass 482 is a temporary visa option available for employers to sponsor and recruit skilled workers to address their labour expertise shortage for their business operation. Even though this is a temporary visa, it offers more convenience because it doesn’t require any age limit for the main applicant. The TSS has 3 streams: (1) Short term; (2) Medium Term and (3) Labour Agreement.

494/191 Visa - Skilled Employer-Sponsored Visa (Regional)
The Skilled Employer-Sponsored (Regional) visa subclass 494 is a provisional visa for skilled workers who intend to work in designated regional areas of Australia. The regional areas considered for this visa subclass are those states/territories outside the major cities (Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane). Subclass 494 was initiated on 19 November 2019 mainly for businesses within the eligible states/territories to address specific labour shortages necessary for their operation.
There is an available permanent residency pathway for subclass 494 visa - subclass 191 (Permanent Residence Skilled Regional Visa). This PR pathway will be available for 494 visa holders starting in November 2022 as they likely meet the main requirement for subclass 191 visa (to work within the regional area for at least 3 years).

186 Visa - Employer Nominated Scheme Visa
The Employer Nominated Scheme (ENS) visa subclass 186 is a permanent visa for highly skilled professionals. This visa subclass is applicable both for those who are outside the country and those who are currently onshore holding a valid temporary work visa.
There are three different streams for this visa:
Direct Entry – this visa stream is mainly for subclass 457/482 visa holders who have worked for an Australian employer for 2-3 years.
Temporary Residence Transition – this visa stream is mainly for those who have never or have briefly worked in the Australian labour market.
Labour Agreement – this visa stream is mainly for those sponsored by an employer via a tailored/negotiated labour agreement or regional migration agreement.

407 Visa - Training Visa
The Training visa subclass 407 is a temporary visa available for skilled workers who will undertake specific skilled occupational training in Australia. This is also available to international students enrolled in a foreign educational institution and are required to complete practical training in their field of study.
There are three types of occupational training covered by this visa:
Workplace-based occupational training for registration
Workplace-based training to enhance skills in an eligible occupation.
Training that promotes capacity building overseas.

400 Visa - Temporary Work Visa
The Temporary Work visa subclass 400 is a short-term visa available for those who yearn to work at a highly specialised occupation relating to Australia’s interests. This visa is usually valid for up to 3 months but in some circumstances, it may be valid for up to 6 months.

408 Visa - Temporary Activity Visa
The Temporary Activity visa subclass 408 is a short term visa for skilled workers who are sponsored by an Australian employer to perform work on a specific type of labour on a short-term basis. There are several streams available for visa applications.
Temporary visa holders will be able to access the 408 COVID-19 Pandemic Event Visa for a period of 12 months if they work in one of the critical sectors. If you are not working in a critical sector and unable to depart Australia due to COVID-19 restrictions – up to 3 months.
