Key Responsibilities:

The main goal of the support worker is to deliver outstanding service while assisting clients in achieving the goals outlined in their NDIS plan. 

  • Work independently to offer a suitable level of assistance, foster, and enhance the client’s independence. Responsibility involves activities such as community participation, skill development, vocational preparation, relationship building, and addressing other personal needs. Assisting clients with their personal care needs including showering, dressing and eating. Additionally, assisting with rehabilitation exercises, basic treatments, and administering medications.

  • Address the client’s needs. Assistance in meeting the client’s mobility and communication requirements and fostering positive collaboration with their families, support network, and other significant individuals in their lives.

  • Maintain precise and comprehensive records of activities through progress notes. Implement therapy plans, including interventions for individuals with dementia and behavioural issues.

  • Observe and promptly report any changes in the conditions of the client, as well as address complaints about care.

  • Adhere to the NDIS Code of Conduct in all aspects of work.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the company looks for people who have the following attributes:

  • Hold relevant qualifications/licenses.

  • An understanding of NDIS and commitment to its principles.

  • A passion for assisting people with disabilities to improve their quality of life and reach their potential.

  • Have at least 5 years of relevant experience working in a similar support worker role.

  • Work efficiently even under pressure and act if there are trouble or problems arising.
