Key Responsibilities:
Implement new menus within the department
Ensure all staff are working in a timely manner
Delegate staff to complete necessary jobs
Provide support to colleagues within the organization
Report positives to the Executive Chef and Directors
Create strategies to address areas that require improvement
Manage overall cleanliness of the kitchen and implement cleaning schedules
Uphold high standards
Manage standard of food and food preparation
Managing stock inventory and ordering appropriate supplies when necessary
Consistency and quality control
Understanding staff skills, personality, and workflow
Ensure wait times are kept under 20 minutes per docket
Train staff in service
Do the pass in eatery
Ensure stock within the department is being rotated
Minimize wastage within the department
Qualifications
Effectively communicating and delegating to the team
Organized and able to meet deadlines
Ability to maintain a team-orientated working culture
Ability to understand the importance of a good workplace culture
Commercial awareness (understanding market trends, operating the department with the best interest of the business with finances and operational requirements)
Flexibility
Good interpersonal skills
Adapting to challenging scenarios diplomatically with the best interest of the business in mind
Working effectively within a team environment
Maintaining a calm and respectful manner at all times
Ability to manage stress and pressure in a calm manner
