How it works
Step 1: Before you apply
Your relative or their family member must be assessed by and get a medical certificate from Bupa Medical Visa Services. The certificate must include a statement that the person has a medical condition and requires a certain amount of care for this.
Step 2: Gather your documents
Provide evidence to support your application.
Provide accurate information
Step 3: Apply for the visa
You must be outside Australia when you apply for the visa.
Step 4: After you apply
Department will inform you once they receive the application.
While waiting for the visa to be granted, you need to inform the department if there is any information that needs to be updated or if there are any changes in your circumstances.
If you did not give the Bupa medical certificate when you applied, you should give it within 3 months of applying. If the department doesn't have the medical certificate by the time we decide on your application, we will not grant you the visa.
Step 5: Visa Outcome
You must be outside Australia when the department decides your visa application. They will let you know the decision in writing.
