The Australian Government has announced that for the 2022-23 permanent Migration Program, the planning level will be raised to 195,000 places which is aimed to address the shortage of skilled workers. Although numerous invitations have been issued last year, there is still a high number of allocated spot that needs to be completed this year. Below are the top 3 states that are expected to make a number of nominations over the next months. 

1. New South Wales

NSW is Australia’s largest state economy, this state also has the largest remaining allocated quotas for state-nominated visa invitations. In order to boost visa approvals, the NSW government just recently eliminated requirements related to work experience and minimum points scores for its skilled-nominated visa category.

2. Victoria

The state government in Victoria has expanded the list of eligible occupations to include all those on the Skilled Occupation list, with the aim of attracting a more diverse range of applicants.

3. Western Australia
The state has recently received an overwhelming number of applications for the State Nomination Migration Program.
