The Queensland police force is launching a global recruitment

Queensland police overseas recruitment

Queensland has launched a massive global recruitment drive into its police force to boost employment. As a result, about 15,000 people overseas expressed their interest in joining the force as it has loose requirements. Australian citizenship or permanent residency will not be required for the aspiring officers.

Benefits of working with Queensland police force

Unlike the usual police academy training that would last for at least eight months, overseas recruits will only need to undergo a fast-tracked four-month training. The program will also give the applicants security in the country as they will have a pathway to permanent residency and citizenship. Another advantage of this employment is the pay rate for each successful applicant. The first-year police constables in Queensland are estimated to earn six figures for a 38-hour work per week.

Student visa changes for Indian nationals

The new migration deal between India and Australia opens up more doors of opportunity for Indian nationals. Last 1 July 2023, Indian graduates of tertiary institutions in Australia can officially work for up to 8 years without visa sponsorship.

Another change that will benefit Indian student visa holders is the implementation of the Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early-professionals Scheme (MATES). This program will offer an annual cap of 3,000 spots for four years that will only be exclusive for high-skilled Indian professionals.
