445 Visa Dependent Child (Temporary)
Visa Overview
445 Visa enables the child of a parent who is holding a temporary Partner visa to join them in Australia. This Visa allows the child that is holding a Dependent Child Visa to enter and remain in the country while the application of the Partner Visa is considered. This Visa allows Child below 18 years old to add as a Dependent of the Parents.
Length of stay: This Visa is for temporary only. The Child’s Visa is valid until the Parent’s temporary or Dependent Visa is valid.

Eligibility and Requirements
Applicant:
The child must be below 18 years old and if over 18, they should be financially dependent on the parent or unable to work because of physical/mental illness
The child must not be married.
The child must be dependent on a parent who holds a:
Partner (Provisional) visa (subclass 309)
Partner visa (subclass 820)
Dependent Child visa (subclass 445)
The child must apply to be added to their parent's permanent Partner visa application when they have been granted this 445 visa.
If the child is in Australia, they can't hold another visa that has a ‘No further stay’ condition.
Sponsors:
Currently residing in Australia with Partner Visa (Subclass 309 or Subclass 820).
Visa Application should be for the own dependent Children (Sponsor must be the same person of the in process application)
Australian Citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand Citizen.
Must have approved Sponsorship from the Department.
No Criminal record.
All debts are paid to the Australian Government, if any.
Sponsor’s Obligations:
Should be responsible for the cost to the expenses of the Child to the Australian Government.
Make sure that the Child will abide by Visa rules and conditions.
Make sure that the child complies to work regulations in case the Child decides to work during the stay in Australia.
How it works
For 445 Visa, it should be submitted as a paper application. The application cannot be submitted online or in person but should be posted or by courier. There will be a Department’s address or Processing Centres where the Application can be submitted.
Kindly note that if the Child is applying offshore, the Application should be sent through the nearest Australian Office.
