Good news! A wide range of occupations are considered in the 189 visa

On June 13, 2024, the Australian immigration authorities held a significant invitation round for the Skilled Independent 189 Visas, bringing exciting news for many aspiring immigrants.

Major Invitation Round for Skilled Independent 189 Visa

This invitation round has garnered attention for its inclusivity, with some carpenters receiving invitations with as few as 65 points. This highlights the high demand for housing trade skills in Australia and underscores the effectiveness of the 189 visa pathway in attracting skilled professionals.

The Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189) is highly sought after because it grants permanent residency in Australia without requiring employer sponsorship. This visa not only allows recipients the flexibility to live and work anywhere in the country but also serves as an essential step towards Australian citizenship.

A significant update in the 2024-2025 Migration Plan is the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) increase to $73,150 from 1st July 2024. This change aims to ensure that temporary skilled migrants are fairly compensated, aligning their wages with the cost of living in Australia and the value of their expertise. By raising the TSMIT, the Australian government is reinforcing its commitment to attracting skilled talent while promoting equitable pay standards in the workforce.

New Skills in Demand Visa coming soon

2024 marks a significant shift toward a more sustainable migration system by introducing the Skills In-Demand Visa. This visa program is set to replace the Temporary Skilled Shortage (subclass 482) Visa. This visa is now valid for up to four years, and it is composed of three streams that offer visa holders increased flexibility and clearer pathways to permanent residency.

The recently introduced Skills in Demand visa opens up promising possibilities for skilled professionals to engage in and contribute to Australia's flourishing economy. Nevertheless, navigating the visa application process can be intricate and may necessitate expert guidance.

We recommend consulting with our certified migration professionals to prioritize and strategize a seamless migration pathway effectively. Although there are various options to initiate the visa application process, it's crucial to commence on the correct path.
