Lengthy Delays Expected for Visa Applications

If you are thinking of migrating to Australia, or even just visiting, the processing time may become quite lengthy and take some time.

The government claims to reduce the staff number by over 300. The Department of Immigration and Border Protection state that job cuts are expected to affect the paperwork and the checking process of Migrating to Australia.  A hiring freeze is also going to be implemented and no replacements will be made for the staffs which are leaving.  The community and Public Sector Union however, claims that over 800 jobs will lost – making the process even longer for those looking to apply for an Australian visa.

The union chief suggest those planning to move to Australia to keep track of their visa application status through their migration agents to find out if there is any delay in their visa
