About Dependent Relative Visa
A Dependent Relative Visa is a permanent visa designed for an elderly relative and dependent of an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to come and live in Australia for financial support.
What Are My Options?
- Subclass 838 (onshore)
This visa requires you to be inside Australia when lodging your application and when your visa is granted.
- Subclass 114 (offshore)
This visa requires you to be outside Australia when lodging your application and when your visa is granted.
Am I Eligible?
To qualify for this visa, you must meet the following requirements:
- If applying onshore, you must hold a visa with a no further stay condition
- You have an eligible relative, or the partner of your relative to sponsor you
- You have no partner (de facto relationship) when you apply
- You have an Assurance of Support (AoS)
